Ivna Esajas has a drawing practice and is based in Amsterdam. She makes large drawings on canvas using charcoal, pencil, paint & inkt. With no preset idea or concept in mind, just traveling over canvas making lines exploring shapes,that can lead to story’s, with no set destination but trying to grasp what is in the lines and the inbetween spaces. Drawing as a way to tap in to a global consciousness to the stories that float around waiting to betold, or as Pelumi Adejumo puts it in her article for Metropolis M : “ Past, present and future flowinto each other, speak to and influence each other. Shadows, lines and faces from the past watchin silence and support figures of today and tomorrow."
